BEHIND THE SCENES WITH MARIACHI SOL DE LISBOA
THE CONCERT
The Mariachi Sol de Lisboa concert is a celebration of Mexican culture, which stands out for the authenticity of its musical themes, the traditional caballero costumes and the typical instruments, such as the Mexican vihuela, the guitarrón, the violins, the guitar and the trumpets. This show goes beyond Mexican music, establishing a deep connection between Mexican and Portuguese cultures, and highlighting the increasingly important importance of knowing and appreciating different cultures.
Composed of some of Lisbon's finest professional musicians and singers, Mariachi Sol de Lisboa is an example of artistic excellence. The group was selected to be part of a select group of eight mariachi groups from around the world in the documentary about the first young mariachi group in the United States, "The Ugly Little Monkeys of Tucson", standing out as a representative of the global diffusion of Mexican music. In addition, Mariachi Sol de Lisboa was invited to the historic tribute concert to Amália Rodrigues, “100 Musicians for Amália”, where they had the honor of accompanying the ranchera "Fallaste Corazón", sung by Amália as a voice-over.
